The Connecticut Application For Certificate of Authority (Foreign Corp) is an official form used by foreign corporations to apply for a Certificate of Authority from the Connecticut Secretary of State. This Certificate of Authority allows the foreign corporation to transact business in the State of Connecticut. The application must include the foreign corporation’s name and address, state or country of incorporation, date of incorporation, and a list of officers, directors, and shareholders. Additionally, the applicant must provide a copy of the Articles of Incorporation and a Certificate of Good Standing from the home state of the corporation. There are two types of Connecticut Applications for Certificate of Authority: Domestic and Foreign. The Domestic Application is for foreign corporations that are incorporated in the United States, while the Foreign Application is for corporations that are incorporated in a foreign country.
