Connecticut Under 21 Motor Vehicle/Underage Drinking Program Application — Portuguese, also known as the CT-U21 Program, is a program designed by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to help deter underage drinking and driving. It requires anyone under the age of 21 who applies for a Connecticut driver's license or learner's permit to complete an application form. The application form is available in both English and Portuguese and contains questions about the applicant's driving history, alcohol use, and experience with alcohol-related traffic offenses. The CT-U21 Program also requires applicants to take an alcohol and drug awareness course and an alcohol and drug education course. The courses cover topics such as the effects of alcohol on the body, the laws pertaining to drinking and driving, and strategies for making safe, sensible decisions about alcohol use. Upon successful completion of the courses, applicants will receive a certificate of completion.
