A Connecticut Motion for Extension of Civil Protection Order is a legal document used to extend a protective order issued by a Connecticut court. This motion is generally filed by a protected person in order to extend the protection order beyond its original expiration date. The motion must be filed with the court that issued the original protective order. There are two types of Connecticut Motion for Extension of Civil Protection Order: 1) Motion for Extension of Civil Restraining Order and 2) Motion for Extension of Civil Protective Order. The Motion for Extension of Civil Restraining Order is used when the original protective order was issued for a period of up to one year and the protected person wishes to extend the order for an additional year. The Motion for Extension of Civil Protective Order is used when the original protective order was issued for a period of more than one year and the protected person wishes to extend the order for a longer period of time.
