Connecticut Law Day — Request To Host A Judge is an initiative of the Connecticut Judicial Branch that allows schools, non-profit organizations, and community groups to request a judge to visit their facility and discuss the role of law in society. It is an opportunity to engage students, members of the community, and other stakeholders in a dialogue with a judge about the importance of the law in our lives. The event may include a variety of activities such as a discussion of local or state laws, an exploration of the court system, or a review of a particular case. The host organization is responsible for providing the judge with an honorarium and any necessary accommodations. There are two types of Connecticut Law Day — Request To Host A Judge: 1) Request for an in-person visit with a judge and 2) Request for a virtual visit with a judge. Both requests require the host organization to provide an honorarium and any necessary accommodations.
