Connecticut Assignment of Registered Mark is a document used to transfer ownership of a registered mark from one person or entity to another. This document is often used when a business is sold, or when a business owner wishes to give the rights of a registered mark to another person or entity. There are two types of Connecticut Assignment of Registered Mark: an assignment with all goodwill (also known as a total assignment) and an assignment without all goodwill (also known as a partial assignment). With an assignment with all goodwill, the assignor transfers all rights to the mark to the assignee and the assignee takes on all the rights and responsibilities associated with the mark. With an assignment without all goodwill, the assignor transfers only certain rights to the mark, such as the right to use the mark in certain geographical areas or in a specific manner.
