District of Columbia Case Initiation-Standard Probate (Adm)-Notice of Standard Probate is a legal document used by the courts in the District of Columbia to initiate a standard probate proceeding. The notice contains the name of the decedent and the name and address of the personal representative who is responsible for administering the estate. The notice also includes the date of death, the date of the filing of the notice, the time and place of hearing, and the date of publication of the notice. The notice is published in a newspaper in the county of the decedent's residence and also in the newspaper in the county where the court is located. There are two types of District of Columbia Case Initiation-Standard Probate (Adm)-Notice of Standard Probate: (1) Notice of Standard Probate with Waiver of Bond and (2) Notice of Standard Probate without Waiver of Bond. The Notice of Standard Probate with Waiver of Bond allows the personal representative to waive the requirement for a bond and proceed with the administration of the estate without a bond. The Notice of Standard Probate without Waiver of Bond requires the personal representative to obtain an approved bond prior to proceeding with the administration of the estate.
