The District of Columbia Statement or Plan of Domestication of Domestic & Foreign Filing Entity is a formal document filed with the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DORA) to domesticate a business from another jurisdiction. This document is used to transfer the ownership of a business from one jurisdiction to another, such as when a business wants to expand into the District of Columbia. The document includes information like the name of the business, its address, and the type of business entity being domesticated. It also includes the name and address of the domesticated entity, the name and address of the owner, and a statement of the purpose of the domestication. There are two types of District of Columbia Statement or Plan of Domestication of Domestic & Foreign Filing Entity: 1) Domestic Filing Entity: This type of domestication is used to transfer a business from one state to the District of Columbia. 2) Foreign Filing Entity: This type of domestication is used to transfer a business from a foreign country to the District of Columbia.
