The District of Columbia Restated Articles of Incorporation of Domestic Nonprofit Corporation is a set of legal documents that are filed with the District of Columbia Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. It is the legal form used to establish a nonprofit corporation in the District of Columbia. The Restated Articles of Incorporation includes the name of the corporation, the corporate purpose, the names of the initial directors, the number of shares to be issued, the address of the registered office, and the name and address of the registered agent. It also contains the provisions for the management of the corporation, including the powers of the board of directors, how elections are held, and how meetings are conducted. There are two types of Restated Articles of Incorporation: Regular and Non-profit. The Regular Restated Articles of Incorporation is used to form a regular for-profit corporation in the District of Columbia. The Non-profit Restated Articles of Incorporation is used to form a nonprofit corporation in the District of Columbia.
