Delaware Retention Schedule — Civil Case Files is an official document that specifies the length of time that civil case files must be maintained and stored. This document is issued and maintained by the Delaware Public Archives (DPA). The document outlines the minimum retention period for civil case files, as well as any additional requirements for their preservation. There are two types of Delaware Retention Schedule — Civil Case Files: Judicial and Non-Judicial. Judicial Civil Case Files include court records, pleadings, judgments, decrees, orders, motions, transcripts, and other related documents. Non-Judicial Civil Case Files include documents related to civil law, such as contracts, deeds, leases, mortgages, and other related documents. Both types of Civil Case Files must be maintained for a minimum of 5 years after the case is closed.
