Florida Special Admission Attorney Certification is a process whereby an attorney can be admitted to practice law in the state of Florida without having to take the Florida Bar Exam. The attorney must have a license to practice law in another jurisdiction, have been actively practicing law for at least five of the past seven years, and be in good standing with the bar in their home jurisdiction. There are two different types of Florida Special Admission Attorney Certification: limited certification and full certification. With limited certification, an attorney may only practice law in the federal courts of Florida, while with full certification they may practice in all the courts of Florida. In order to be eligible for Florida Special Admission Attorney Certification, the attorney must also be of good moral character, must demonstrate that they are competent to practice law in Florida, and must complete all the necessary paperwork.
