A Florida Request for Confidentiality is a document that allows individuals to keep certain personal information protected from public view. This includes Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account numbers, and other sensitive information. This request is granted by the court, and is also known as a “Petition for Confidentiality.” There are two types of Florida Request for Confidentiality: Absolute and Partial. Absolute Confidentiality means that all personal information is kept off of public records. This includes any identifying information such as name, address, and Social Security number, as well as any court documents that may be filed. This type of request is usually granted in cases involving sensitive personal information, such as a divorce or adoption. Partial Confidentiality means that some personal information is kept off of public records, but other information is available for public view. This includes any documents filed with the court or other public records. This type of request is typically granted for cases involving sensitive information that does not need to be kept completely private, such as a landlord/tenant dispute or civil suit.
