Florida Pre-Trial Compliance is a system used by the courts to ensure that defendants appear at their scheduled court dates and comply with all court orders. It is a way for the court to ensure that defendants are abiding by the law and fulfilling their responsibilities during the pre-trial process. There are three main types of Florida Pre-Trial Compliance: pre-trial services, probation supervision, and electronic monitoring. Pre-trial services involve the assessment of defendants to determine their risk of failure to appear or noncompliance with court orders. Probation supervision involves regular contact between the defendant and a probation officer to monitor their progress, including drug testing, community service, or other conditions of release. Electronic monitoring involves the use of GPS tracking and/or curfews to ensure that defendants remain in compliance with court orders.
