The Florida Report of General Magistrate — Petition For Temporary-Emergency Parental Responsibility For Minor Child(men) By Extended Family is a formal request for the Court to grant temporary-emergency parental responsibility for a minor child(men) to an extended family member. There are three types of Florida Reports of General Magistrate — Petition For Temporary-Emergency Parental Responsibility For Minor Child(men) By Extended Family: Petition For Temporary-Emergency Parental Responsibility For Minor Child(men) By Grandparent; Petition For Temporary-Emergency Parental Responsibility For Minor Child(men) By Adult Sibling; and Petition For Temporary-Emergency Parental Responsibility For Minor Child(men) By Other Extended Family Member. These petitions must be filed in the County Court where the minor child(men) resides and must include a detailed description of the facts and circumstances that demonstrate why the Court should grant the temporary-emergency parental responsibility to the extended family member. The Court may grant the temporary-emergency parental responsibility to the extended family member if the Court finds that the best interests of the minor child(men) will be served.
