Florida Simplified Accounting (Guardianship Report) is a report prepared by the guardian of an incapacitated person detailing the financial transactions and assets of the ward. This report is mandated by the State of Florida and is typically submitted annually. It serves as a tool for the court to ensure that the guardian is following the law and managing the ward’s financeresponsiblyer. There are two different types of Florida Simplified Accounting (Guardianship Report): the Annual Accounting and the Final Accounting. The Annual Accounting gives a comprehensive overview of the ward’s assets, liabilities, and income and expenses for the reporting period, and is usually due within 90 days of the end of the reporting period. The Final Accounting includes a description of the ward’s assets, liabilities, and income and expenses for the entire period of the guardianship, and is typically due upon the termination of the guardianship.
