The Florida Direct Pay Affidavit is a legal document that is filed with the Clerk of the Court in order to pay a civil or family law case without involving a third party. In Florida, the Direct Pay Affidavit allows the party responsible for paying a court-ordered debt or fee to directly pay the Clerk of the Court, bypassing the need for a third-party payment processor. There are two types of Florida Direct Pay Affidavits: the Family Law Direct Pay Affidavit and the Civil Direct Pay Affidavit. The Family Law Direct Pay Affidavit is used to pay court-ordered alimony, child support, or other family law related expenses. The Civil Direct Pay Affidavit is used to pay civil court-ordered debts or fees. Both types of Direct Pay Affidavit require the party responsible for payment to provide personal information, such as name, address, and Social Security Number, as well as the name of the party to receive payment, amount to be paid, and payment information. Once filed with the Clerk of the Court, the Direct Pay Affidavit serves as a legal notice to the party responsible for payment that the payment has been made.
