A Florida Nonmilitary Affidavit is a legal document used by a person in Florida who is not in active military service or in the National Guard or Reserves to prove residency in the state. The affidavit is used to demonstrate that the person is a resident of the state and is not a nonresident. There are two types of Florida Nonmilitary Affidavits: the Nonmilitary Dependent Affidavit and the Nonmilitary Resident Affidavit. The Nonmilitary Dependent Affidavit is used by a dependent of a non-military resident of Florida and must be signed by the non-military resident. The Nonmilitary Resident Affidavit is used by an adult, nonmilitary resident of Florida and must be signed by two witnesses. Both affidavits must be notarized and must include the name, address, and other identifying information of the non-military resident.
