Georgia Designation of Agent for Business Entity is a form used by businesses in the state of Georgia to designate an agent to receive service of process in the event that the entity is sued. The Designation of Agent form must be filed with the Georgia Secretary of State, and the agent listed on the form must consent to receive service of process in the event that the entity is sued. The Designation of Agent form must be signed by a representative of the business entity and must include the following information: the name of the business entity, the registered agent’s name and address, the initial filing date, and the name and signature of the representative signing the form. There are two types of Designation of Agent forms: the Designation of Agent for Business Entity and the Designation of Agent for Limited Liability Company. Both forms are required to be filed with the Georgia Secretary of State in order for the business entity to be in compliance with state law.
