Georgia Notice of Delinquency is a document that provides notification to a debtor that a debt is past due and that legal action may be taken if the debt is not paid. This document is usually initiated by a creditor or debt collection agency. It serves as an official notice that payment is overdue, and it outlines the amount owed, the date it was due, and the consequences of non-payment. There are two types of Georgia Notices of Delinquency: Demand for Payment and Notice of Intent to Accelerate. Demand for Payment is sent when the debt has been past due for at least 30 days and requires the debtor to pay the full amount of the debt within 10 days of receipt. Notice of Intent to Accelerate is sent when the debt has been past due for at least 90 days and informs the debtor that the creditor may take legal action to accelerate the debt if it is not paid in full.
