The Hawaii Proposed Parenting Plan (PPP) is a document created by the Hawaii State Judiciary that provides guidelines for parents who are separated or divorced, and are unable to come up with a mutually beneficial parenting plan on their own. The PPP outlines suggested terms for both physical and legal custody, visitation, decision-making, communication, and other matters related to a child’s wellbeing. ThPPPPP may be used as a starting point for parents to develop their own customized parenting plan, tailored to their individual circumstances. There are two types of Happy: the Standard PPP and the Joint PPP. The Standard PPP is designed for parents who are unable to agree on a parenting plan and require judicial assistance. The Joint PPP is intended for parents who are able to come to an agreement on their own, and therefore do not need judicial assistance. The PPP is designed to ensure that the best interests of the child are taken into consideration. It includes provisions for a parenting schedule, child support, transportation arrangements, and dispute resolution. The PPP also addresses matters such as health care, education, extracurricular activities, and other special needs and circumstances. The PPP is not a legally binding document; rather, it is a guideline for parents to use in developing an individualized parenting plan that meets the needs of their family.
