Hawaii Wages and Hours refers to the minimum wage and overtime pay regulations in the state of Hawaii. All employees in Hawaii are guaranteed a minimum wage of $10.10 per hour, which is adjusted annually to account for the cost of living. Additionally, employers must provide overtime pay to nonexempt employees at a rate of 1.5 times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours during a workweek. Hawaii also requires employers to pay wages for all hours worked, even if the hours worked are fewer than the hours for which the employee was scheduled. Additionally, employers must provide timely payment of wages to employees, and any wages not paid by the due date may be subject to liquidated damages. Finally, Hawaii has implemented a “show up pay” law that requires employers to pay employees a minimum of four hours of wages at their regular rate of pay if the employee is required to report to work, but is given fewer than four hours of work.
