The Hawaii Application for Issuance of Subpoenas is a court document used by attorneys and other court officers to require an individual or entity to appear in court to provide testimony or documents related to a legal matter. It is issued by the court and is generally used in civil and criminal cases. There are two types of Hawaii Applications for Issuance of Subpoenas: a Subpoena Ducks Cecum (“Bring with You”) and a Subpoena Ad Testificandum (“For Testimony”). The SubpoDucksuCecumecum requires the person or entity to appear and bring with them certain documents or records specified in the subpoena. The Subpoena Ad Testificandum requires the person or entity to appear and provide testimony at a specific court hearing or deposition. Both types of subpoenas must be served on the person or entity to whom it is directed prior to the court hearing or deposition.
