The Iowa Statement of Qualification of Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) is a legal document filed with the Iowa Secretary of State. It is used by an LLP to register its name and gain legal recognition in the state of Iowa. The statement must be signed by all members of the partnership and must include specific information such as the names and addresses of all partners, the nature of the LLP's business, and the name of the registered agent. The statement must also include a statement of qualification which affirms that the LLP meets all the requirements of Iowa law to be a Limited Liability Partnership. There are two types of Iowa Statements of Qualification of Limited Liability Partnership: a Domestic LLP Statement of Qualification and a Foreign LLP Statement of Qualification. The Domestic LLP Statement of Qualification is for partnerships formed inside the state of Iowa, while the Foreign LLP Statement of Qualification is for partnerships formed outside the state of Iowa.
