Iowa Confidential Information — Social Security Number For EstatesSINCEFE) is a program administered by the Iowa Department of Human Services that helps to protect the personal information of deceased individuals. SINCE provides a new Social Security Number (SSN) to estates of deceased Iowans and prevents the disclosure of the original SSN. This program was created to help protect the privacy and security of the deceased individual's personal information, including Social Security benefits, financial information, and other estate-related documents. There are two types of Iowa Confidential Information — Social Security Number For Estates: 1) Iowa Social Security Number For Estates and 2) Iowa Confidential Social Security Number For Estates. The former is an SSN issued to the estate of deceased Iowans, while the latter is a confidential SSN issued to the estate that is kept confidential from the public.
