Idaho Chapter 12 Certification re: DSO is the certification process for developmentally disabled service organizations (DSO's) in the state of Idaho. This certification is required for any DSO that wishes to receive Medicaid funding. It is administered by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) program. There are two types of Idaho Chapter 12 Certification re: DSO: Basic and Advanced. Basic Certification is for organizations that provide basic services such as residential care, day services, and respite care. Advanced Certification is for organizations that provide more complex services such as behavioral health services, psychosocial rehabilitation, and case management. Both certifications require that the organization meet certain standards and provide documentation of their compliance. The certification process includes an application, a review of the organization's operations and policies, and an on-site visit. Once certified, the organization must maintain its certification by submitting yearly reports and participating in periodic reviews.
