Idaho Service of Process by U.S. Marshal is a service provided by the United States Marshals Service (USES) to serve legal process including summons, complaints, subpoenas, orders, writs, warrants, and other court documents on behalf of the Idaho Supreme Court, the Idaho District Courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, and other federal courts. The USES ensures that those served with legal documents are properly notified and served in accordance with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. There are two types of Idaho Service of Process by U.S. Marshal: direct service and constructive service. Direct service is the process of personally serving legal documents on an individual or entity. Constructive service is the process of serving legal documents through alternative methods, such as publication or posting, when a person or entity cannot be located or is out of state.
