The Illinois Notice of Expedited Case Management Conference is a document issued by the Illinois Supreme Court in order to expedite the proceedings of a case. The notice is sent to all parties involved in the case and informs them of the date, time, and location of the case management conference. There are three types of Illinois Notice of Expedited Case Management Conference: Pre-Trial Conference, Status Conference, and Settlement Conference. A Pre-Trial Conference is held to identify the issues in the case that need to be resolved before trial, to review any proposed discovery plans, and to set a trial date. A Status Conference is held to allow the parties to update the court on the progress of the case and to discuss any issues that may arise during the course of the proceedings. Lastly, a Settlement Conference is held to allow the parties to attempt to reach a resolution without the need for a trial. The Notice of Expedited Case Management Conference also includes instructions on how to prepare for and participate in the conference.
