The Illinois Order For Termination-Temporary Extension Of Emergency-Interim Order Of Protection is a type of court order used to protect a person from another. This Order can be issued by a judge after a hearing to provide immediate protection from abuse, harassment, or stalking which the petitioner may have experienced or is at risk of experiencing. The Order remains in effect until the court holds a hearing on the matter. There are three types of Illinois Order For Termination-Temporary Extension Of Emergency-Interim Order Of Protection: Temporary Emergency Order of Protection, Interim Order of Protection, and Termination Order of Protection. A Temporary Emergency Order of Protection is issued when the petitioner is in imminent danger of harm. This Order remains in effect for up to 21 days, or until a full hearing can be held. An Interim Order of Protection is issued when the court needs more time to consider the matter, and is valid for up to 30 days, or until a full hearing is held. Finally, a Termination Order of Protection is issued when the court finds that there are no grounds for the Order of Protection to remain in effect. This Order terminates the Order of Protection and is valid indefinitely.
