Illinois Small Claims Satisfaction of Judgment is a procedure that must be followed in order for a judgment creditor to indicate that a debt has been paid in full. This procedure is used when a judgment is obtained against a debtor in a small claims court in the state of Illinois. The creditor must file a satisfaction of judgment with the clerk of the court in order to have the debt officially discharged. The satisfaction of judgment must include the following information: the name of the debtor, the court in which the judgment was entered, the case number, the judgment amount, the date the judgment was entered, and the signature of the creditor or an attorney representing the creditor. There are two types of Illinois Small Claims Satisfaction of Judgment: voluntary satisfaction of judgment and involuntary satisfaction of judgment. Voluntary satisfaction of judgment is when the creditor and debtor agree to settle the debt, while involuntary satisfaction of judgment is when the creditor pursues legal action and obtains a judgment against the debtor.
