Illinois Application For Remote Access Service (AURAS) is a service offered by the University of Illinois that allows users to access their on-campus resources from off-campus locations. This service is available to all faculty, staff, and students of the university. It allows users to securely access their university resources from anywhere they have an internet connection. AURAS provides access to applications such as email, file servers, web applications, databases, and other on-campus services. There are two types of AURAS: the Virtual Private Network (VPN) and the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). The VPN allows users to access the university’s network from any computer with an internet connection, while the RDP allows users to access their university resources from anywhere in the world. Both services use secure, encrypted connections to ensure that user data is kept safe and secure.
