The Illinois Consent To Participate Drug Court Program is a voluntary program that allows individuals accused of drug-related offenses to enter into a court-supervised program for substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation. Participants are referred to the program by the judge and must agree to certain conditions in order to participate. These conditions include attending substance abuse treatment, submitting to drug tests, and participating in other programs such as community service and/or education and employment programs. Participants must comply with the program and demonstrate progress in their rehabilitation efforts in order to remain in the program. If they fail to do so, they may face more severe penalties in the traditional court system. There are two types of Illinois Consent To Participate Drug Court Programs: Adult Drug Court and Juvenile Drug Court. The Adult Drug Court program is aimed at adult offenders and the Juvenile Drug Court program is aimed at juvenile offenders.
