Illinois DOMESTIC RELATIONS Access to Justice Addendum (DRAT JA) is an agreement that is signed by all parties in a domestic relations case to ensure access to justice for those who are not represented by an attorney in the court system. This addendum is intended to provide guidance and clarity on the legal process, as well as to ensure that all parties are aware of their rights and obligations. This addendum outlines the parties' rights in matters such as filing fees, service of process, and court documents. There are two types of DRAT JA: the Standard DRAT JA and the Limited DRAT JA. The Standard DRAT JA applies to all domestic relations cases and provides all parties with the same rights and obligations. The Limited DRAT JA applies only to those cases with limited financial resources and provides fewer rights and obligations than the Standard DRAT JA.
