The Illinois Notice of Motion is a legal document used to request a hearing before the court. It is an official court document that must be filed with the clerk of court in order to initiate a formal court proceeding. It is typically used by attorneys, in representing their clients, to request a hearing on a specific matter. The Notice of Motion must include the name of the court, the title of the action, the names of the parties involved, the court date and time for the hearing, the relief or remedy sought by the moving party, and the signature of the attorney. The Notice of Motion must also be served to the opposing party or attorney. There are two types of Illinois Notice of Motion: the Regular Notice of Motion and the Expedited Notice of Motion. The Regular Notice of Motion is used to schedule a hearing at least 14 days from the date of filing. The Expedited Notice of Motion is used to schedule a hearing within 14 days from the date of filing.
