An Illinois Order is a court-issued document authorizing protective measures for a person who has been threatened with domestic violence or is in danger of being a victim of domestic violence. It is a type of civil restraining order which is issued by the court in the state of Illinois. There are two types of Illinois Order: Order of Protection and Civil No Contact Order. An Order of Protection is a court order issued by a judge to protect a person from being threatened, harassed, intimidated, abused, or stalked by another person. It can also provide for the exclusion of the abuser from the home, the payment of financial support, and the sharing of parental responsibilities. A Civil No Contact Order is a court order issued by a judge to prevent one person from having contact with another person. It is typically used in cases where the accused is not a family or household member of the victim, and typically has an expiration date.
