CMOS are typically issued by the presiding judge in a case. There are several types of Illinois Case Management Orders that may be issued. A Status Conference Order is issued to move the case forward and establish deadlines for pleadings, motions, and other proceedings. A Scheduling Order is issued to set dates for various filings and proceedings, such as depositions, status conferences, and trial dates. An Order of Continuance is issued to postpone the trial date. A Discovery Order is issued to establish deadlines and procedures for the discovery process. Lastly, an Order of Dismissal is issued when the case is dismissed.
