Illinois Notice of Appeal is a document that is filed by an appellant (the party appealing a court decision) with the appropriate court or agency when appealing a court decision. It is a formal notice of the intention to appeal a court decision. The Notice of Appeal must be filed within 30 days of the entry of a final judgment, order, or decree of the court. The Notice of Appeal must include all parties, the court or agency appealed from, the date of the entry of the final judgment, order, or decree, and a short statement of the reasons for the appeal. There are two types of Illinois Notice of Appeal: civil and criminal. The civil Notice of Appeal is for appeals of civil orders, decrees, or judgments, while the criminal Notice of Appeal is for appeals of criminal orders, decrees, or judgments.
