The Illinois 2011 Farm Affidavit is a legal document used as evidence in the state of Illinois to prove that a property is used for agricultural purposes. It is a sworn statement signed by the owner of the property stating that the land is being used for farming operations and is not intended for residential purposes. The affidavit must be notarized and submitted to the local assessor's office in order to receive agricultural assessment for property tax purposes. There are two types of Illinois 2011 Farm Affidavits: the Farm Affidavit for Agricultural Use and the Farm Affidavit for Special Use. The Farm Affidavit for Agricultural Use is used to document that the land is being used for farming operations and will be used for those purposes for the next three years. The Farm Affidavit for Special Use is used to document that the land is being used for a special purpose other than farming and will remain in that use for the next three years.
