Illinois Name/Address or Employment Change is a process in which an individual or business changes their name, address, or employment in the state of Illinois. This process can take place when an individual moves to a new address, changes their name, or changes their place of employment. There are two types of Illinois Name/Address or Employment Change: Personal and Business. Personal Name/Address or Employment Change requires an individual to inform the Illinois Secretary of State of their name change or new address. The individual must also submit their updated information to the Illinois Department of Revenue, the Social Security Administration, and the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Business Name/Address or Employment Change requires a business to submit updated information to the Illinois Secretary of State, the Illinois Department of Revenue, and the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Additionally, businesses must update their name and/or address with any lenders, creditors, vendors, or customers with whom they do business.
