An Illinois Order for Extension and-or Modification Civil No Contact Order is a court order issued in the state of Illinois that extends and/or modifies a preexisting civil no contact order. A civil no contact order is a court order that prohibits a person from having any contact with another person or persons. This type of order may be issued if there is a fear of physical harm or harassment. There are two types of Illinois Order for Extension and-or Modification Civil No Contact Order. The first type is an Emergency Order for Extension and/or Modification Civil No Contact Order, which is issued by a judge or magistrate without notice to the respondent. This type of order is typically issued in situations where there is an immediate threat of physical harm or harassment to the protected person. The second type of Illinois Order for Extension and/or Modification Civil No Contact Order is a Plenary Order for Extension and/or Modification Civil No Contact Order, which is issued after a hearing where both parties are present. This type of order can last for any length of time and can impose strict conditions on the respondent. Both types of Illinois Order for Extension and/or Modification Civil No Contact Order are enforceable in the state of Illinois and can be enforced by the police. Violation of either type of order can result in criminal charges.
