Illinois Stalking No Contact Order is a court order that prohibits an individual from committing certain behaviors that constitute stalking, such as contacting, harassing, threatening, or following another individual. It can be issued in both criminal and civil cases and is designed to protect the victim from further harm. There are two types of Illinois Stalking No Contact Order: Permanent Order and Temporary Order. A Permanent Order will remain in effect until it is lifted or modified by a court order, while a Temporary Order will remain in effect until the date specified by the court. Both types of orders require the respondent to have no contact with the complainant, which includes not communicating directly or indirectly, coming within a specified distance of the complainant, or entering or remaining within the complainant's residence or workplace. Additionally, the order may also include other restrictions, such as prohibiting the respondent from possessing firearms.
