The Illinois Request for Modification of Payments (RAMP) is a form used by individuals who are having difficulty making their monthly child support payments. The form is used to request a modification to the current payment terms, allowing the individual to make more manageable payments. There are two types of Illinois RAMP: Temporary and Permanent. The Temporary Illinois RAMP allows an individual to make payments over a period of up to 12 months, with the agreement that the amount will be increased once the individual is able to do so. The Permanent Illinois RAMP is used when an individual is unable to make their payments due to a permanent change in their circumstances. This form allows for a modification of the payment amount and/or payment schedule for a longer period of time. Both forms require documentation to prove the individual’s need for the change. The individual must provide information such as income, assets, and expenses to show that they are unable to make the payments. Once the form is completed and submitted, it will be reviewed by the court and a decision will be made on the modification request.
