An Illinois Stalking No Contact Order-Motion to Modify or Extend is a court order issued by a judge to protect a person from stalking behavior. This order is used to restrict contact between a stalker and the person seeking protection. The order can be tailored to fit the individual situation, but typically includes a provision that the stalker may not contact the protected party in any way, including electronically, by telephone, or in person. It is also possible for the court to order the stalker to stay away from the protected party’s residence, place of employment, or other places frequented by the protected party. Additionally, the court may order the stalker to attend counseling or to complete community service. There are two types of Illinois Stalking No Contact Order-Motion to Modify or Extend: Temporary and Permanent. A Temporary Motion to Modify or Extend is valid for a specific period of time and may be renewed upon expiration. A Permanent Motion to Modify or Extend is issued for an indefinite period of time.
