An Illinois Financial Affidavit is a legal document used to provide financial information to the court in family law matters, such as divorce, child support, and child custody cases. The Financial Affidavit requires the parties to disclose their income, assets, liabilities, and other financial information. Depending on the type of case, there are two different types of Financial Affidavits: the First Judicial Circuit Financial Affidavit and the Second Judicial Circuit Financial Affidavit. The First Judicial Circuit Financial Affidavit is used in Cook County and the Second Judicial Circuit Financial Affidavit is used in all other Illinois counties. Both forms require the parties to provide detailed information about their income, assets, liabilities, and other financial information. The Financial Affidavit is used to help the court determine an accurate financial picture of the family.
