The Illinois Record Search Request is a service provided by the Illinois State Police, allowing individuals to access criminal records of individuals living in the state of Illinois. This service is used to determine whether an individual has any criminal record as well as to verify information on applications. The Illinois Record Search Request contains information about arrests, criminal charges, convictions, and other related information. There are two types of Illinois Record Search Requests: Name-Based and Fingerprint-Based. The Name-Based search provides records based on a query of an individual's name, date of birth, and social security number. The Fingerprint-Based search provides records based on a query of an individual's fingerprints. This service is available to both private and public entities, and requires a fee for access to the records.
