Domestic Violence Counseling Programs
Illinois Domestic Violence Counseling Programs are a network of services designed to provide support and counseling to survivors of domestic violence and their families. Services may include individual counseling, group counseling, legal advocacy, and other supportive services. These programs are designed to help survivors of domestic violence recognize, understand, and cope with the impact of abuse. The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDs) offers a range of funding for domestic violence counseling programs. These programs are divided into three types: Statewide Programs, Local Programs, and Court-Based Programs. Statewide Programs are funded through the IDs and provide services to survivors of domestic violence and their families throughout the state of Illinois. They provide prevention, education, and counseling services, as well as legal advocacy and referrals to other services. Local Programs are funded by local governments and provide services to survivors of domestic violence and their families in the local area. They provide counseling, legal advocacy, prevention education services, and referrals to other services. Court-Based Programs are funded by the court system and provide services to survivors of domestic violence and their families in the court system. They provide services such as mediation, training, and therapy to survivors of domestic violence, as well as referrals to other services. These programs are designed to help survivors of domestic violence recognize, understand, and cope with the impact of abuse, as well as to prevent future abuse.
