Illinois Small Claims Satisfaction of Judgment or Dismissal of course of Action is a legal process in which a judgment or cause of action is either satisfied or dismissed in a small claims court in the state of Illinois. This process is used when a judgment has been issued by the small claims court, but the defendant is unable to pay the full amount of the judgment or when the plaintiff no longer wishes to pursue the cause of action. There are three types of Illinois Small Claims Satisfaction of Judgment or Dismissal of course of Action: 1) Voluntary Dismissal; 2) Voluntary Payment; and 3) Court Order. With a Voluntary Dismissal, the plaintiff may voluntarily dismiss the cause of action and no payment is required. With a Voluntary Payment, the defendant agrees to pay the full amount of the judgment, in which case the judgment is considered satisfied. Finally, a Court Order can be issued by the small claims court if the defendant does not voluntarily pay the full amount of the judgment. This order requires the defendant to pay the full amount of the judgment, and if the defendant fails to do so the court can enforce the order.
