Description

This form creates an Area of Mutual Interest (AMI) comprising the Contract Area. During the term of this AMI, if any Party acquires all or any interest in any Oil and Gas Leases, any mineral interest, or any farmouts or other contracts which affect lands and minerals lying within the AMI, the Acquiring Party shall promptly advise each of the other Parties of the acquisition, at which time each Offeree shall have the right to acquire its proportionate interest in the Oil and Gas Interest.

Illinois Area of Mutual Interest (AMI) is a legal concept used in the field of oil and gas exploration and drilling. It refers to a geographic area within the state of Illinois where multiple parties or operators agree to work together in exploring and developing oil and gas resources. The Illinois AMI is typically established through a legally binding agreement, known as an Area of Mutual Interest Agreement, between two or more entities. This agreement outlines the specific geographic boundaries of the AMI and governs the rights and responsibilities of the participating parties. The primary purpose of establishing an Illinois AMI is to promote collaboration and mutual benefit among operators. By delineating a specific area, operators can share information, resources, and efforts to optimize exploration and drilling activities. This collaborative approach can significantly reduce costs, minimize duplication of efforts, and enhance the overall efficiency of oil and gas operations within the designated area. There are several types of Illinois AMIS, each serving a unique purpose or accommodating different scenarios: 1. Exploration AMI: This type of AMI is established when parties intend to evaluate the potential for oil and gas reserves within a specific geographic area. Operators within the Exploration AMI will collectively conduct seismic surveys, geological studies, and exploration drilling to assess the area's hydrocarbon potential. 2. Development AMI: Once the potential for oil and gas reserves is confirmed through exploration activities, the Illinois AMI can transition into a Development AMI. This phase focuses on executing development plans to extract the discovered resources. Operators collaboratively plan and coordinate drilling programs, production facilities, and infrastructure construction within the AMI to optimize resource recovery. 3. Production AMI: In cases where the area has already been explored and developed, a Production AMI may be established. This type of AMI concentrates on the joint operation and production of oil and gas within the defined area. Operators coordinate reservoir management, production optimization strategies, and maintenance activities to ensure efficient and sustainable hydrocarbon extraction. The establishment of an Illinois AMI requires careful consideration of various factors, including legal frameworks, geological prospects, and the willingness and capabilities of participating parties. These agreements foster cooperation, knowledge sharing, and efficient resource utilization, ultimately benefiting all parties involved in oil and gas operations within the designated Illinois Area of Mutual Interest.
