The Kentucky Certificate of Qualification (CD) is a certificate issued by the Kentucky Department of Corrections that serves as an official document recognizing the successful completion of a period of probation, parole, or conditional discharge. The CD is intended to provide an individual with a second chance by allowing them to legally state that they have fulfilled their legal obligations and have been released from state supervision. It also serves as an official record of the individual's status as a law-abiding citizen. There are two types of Kentucky Certificate of Qualification: Probation and Parole CQS. The Probation CD is issued to individuals who have successfully completed their probationary period without any violations. The Parole CD is issued to individuals who have successfully completed their parole period without any violations. Both types of CQS are valid in any Kentucky court as evidence of an individual's rehabilitation.
