A Kentucky Certificate of Good Standing (Court of Appeals), also known as a Certificate of Authority, is a document issued by the Kentucky Court of Appeals. It is issued to a business entity that is registered with the Secretary of State and is in compliance with all state laws. It certifies that the business entity is in good standing with the state and is authorized to do business in the state of Kentucky. Furthermore, it is typically required for entities that are applying for a loan, credit, or other type of financing. There are two types of Kentucky Certificate of Good Standing (Court of Appeals): the Original Certificate of Good Standing and the Renewal Certificate of Good Standing. The Original Certificate of Good Standing is issued when the business entity has been registered for the first time with the Secretary of State. The Renewal Certificate of Good Standing is issued when the business entity has been registered for more than one year and is in compliance with all state laws.
