A Kentucky General Power of Attorney is a legal document that grants a person (the "principal") the authority to designate another person (the "agent") to act on their behalf in regard to all legal matters, including financial, legal, and medical decisions. The agent is authorized to make decisions and take action on behalf of the principal, such as signing documents, entering contracts, and managing finances. There are several types of Kentucky General Power of Attorney, including Durable Power of Attorney, Springing Power of Attorney, Limited Power of Attorney, and Medical Power of Attorney. Durable Power of Attorney remains valid even if the principal becomes incapacitated, while a Springing Power of Attorney only becomes valid once the principal is incapacitated. Limited Power of Attorney grants the agent limited power to act on behalf of the principal in a specific situation, whereas Medical Power of Attorney grants the agent the authority to make medical decisions on the principal's behalf.
