Kentucky Trademark or Service Mark Application is a process for registering a trademark or service mark with the Kentucky Secretary of State. A trademark is a word, phrase, logo, design, or other symbol used to identify and distinguish the goods and services of one company from those of another. A service mark is a word, phrase, logo, design, or other symbol used to identify and distinguish the services of one company from those of another. The Kentucky Trademark or Service Mark Application process includes filing an application, paying a fee, and responding to any objections or refusals from the Kentucky Secretary of State. The application must include a statement of ownership, a description of the goods or services being trademarked, and a drawing or other image of the trademark. There are two types of Kentucky Trademark or Service Mark Application: a standard application and an intent-to-use application. A standard application is used for trademarks or service marks that are already in use. An intent-to-use application is used for trademarks or service marks that are not yet in use but will be used in the future.
